Travel To MadFest

MadFest takes place in Emprosneros, Apokoronas, Crete. Surrounded by the legendary Madares (White Mountains) it takes place in one of the island’s most unique open-air locations.

Free parking areas will be available near the festival location.

Public Bus Routes

Visitors can travel to the festival area through the Cretan KTEL bus network. Main intercity routes include:

Chania <-> Vamos (Vryses Apokoronou Stop)
Rethymno <-> Chania route with connections toward Apokoronas (Vryses Apokoronou Stop)
Heraklion <-> Chania express buses with transfer options toward the festival area

The main north-coast KTEL line between Chania, Rethymno and Heraklion runs frequently throughout the day during summer season.

Detailed festival transport schedules and exact bus stops will be announced closer to the event dates.

Festival Shuttle Service

To make access easier, dedicated MadFest shuttle buses will transport visitors from the main road and nearby drop-off points directly to the amphitheater entrance throughout the festival.

Additional late-night return shuttles will also operate after the end of the program. More transport details are coming soon.

Find Your Way to the Mountains

Our gathering is sheltered within the ancient stone of Apokoronas. While it feels completely disconnected from the outside world, reaching the amphitheater is very straightforward. Map out your route below.
