Zeus and your mind

Sofia Pateli & Vassilis Antonakakis

September 6th 19:30 – 20:30

A dark comedy drawn from life’s most unpredictable moments. After an accident, a woman falls into a coma and wakes up in a world where everything she believed until now is overturned. An absurd, comical, tender, and “dangerously” real world. There she meets people familiar, unknown, forgotten… and Zeus himself, who appears in unpredictable forms that are not at all divinely reassuring. Her wanderings become a journey of self-discovery, where comedy meets the absurd and this is the only truth… her only safety… Every encounter opens a door to a new condition, a new possibility, a new life that might be waiting for her…

INNER HARBOUR

Yota Samioti

September 6th 21:00

INNER HARBOUR is a poetic cinematic meditation on silence, presence, and the search for an inner place of grounding. Set among the landscapes and harbours of Crete, the film unfolds as a sensory journey from movement to stillness, from external wandering to inner arrival.

More than a conventional short film, INNER HARBOUR is a visual ritual. Through poetic imagery, embodied movement, ambient rhythm, and sparse narration, it invites the audience to experience contemplation rather than simply follow a story.

Its philosophy resonates deeply with the spirit of MadFest Crete. Just as the festival transforms the Cretan mountains into a place where music, nature, mythology, and human connection become one, INNER HARBOUR explores the harbour not as a physical destination, but as a state of calm, resilience, and presence within ourselves.

Presented beneath the White Mountains, the film becomes more than a screening. Ιt becomes part of the MadFest journey. A moment to slow down, breathe, and reconnect before continuing the shared celebration. Blending cinema, landscape, ritual, and emotion, INNER HARBOUR offers an immersive experience designed to be felt as much as watched, creating a natural bridge between visual art and the collective energy that defines MadFest Crete.

MEDUSA

Sofia Pournatzi “Medusia”

September 6th 22:30

Medusa is an immersive multidisciplinary performance that takes the audience on a journey from the past into the future. Blending contemporary dance, fire performance, and music, this original creation by Sofia Pournatzi, a Greek choreographer, dancer, and movement artist based in London, reimagines one of mythology’s most misunderstood figures.

Rather than retelling the familiar tale, this performance explores Medusa’s transformation through a new perspective. Instead of remaining trapped by pain, revenge, and darkness, Medusa chooses healing, forgiveness, and love. She breaks free from the weight of her past and embraces the possibility of a new future.

The performance carries a powerful message: our past does not have to define who we become. Even when we inherit pain, trauma, or injustice, we have the power to grow, evolve, and become a better version of ourselves. We are not destined to repeat the mistakes or suffering of those who came before us. We can choose compassion, resilience, and transformation.

Through expressive movement, powerful visuals, fire, and an evocative musical landscape, Medusa invites audiences to reflect on the strength it takes to let go, heal, and rewrite our own story.
